Normally you wouldn't put these two events in life together, but for me, the blending of the two has happened twice in life. Dennis and I married in August of '78 in the middle of our college years. Josh arrived one year later just two weeks before our senior year began. A switch in my major and the events of marriage and a birth interrupted college plans and so I graduated with a 2-year degree in Christian Education. So upon graduation I was a new mom holding 9-month old Josh in my arms.
Fast forward 27 years . . . after raising our family, it was my turn to finish what I had started. On Saturday, April 28, I donned cap and gown to walk in IWU's commencement - this time with my bachelor's in CE. And this time with our first grandchild in my arms.

My deepest Congratulations....I know you worked and planned to finish that degree....Well Done.
And that sweet little girl...how your heart must explode with love for her.

I meant to tell you a few months back while I was reading your blog, I was very touched by this entry. I think it is so cool that you had these two similar events in such different stages of life. But mostly, I am encouraged by your persistence and eagerness to learn!
