I know it's not Christmas yet, but...

Last week while Evee was still here we decorated for Christmas. I have minimal decorations, but enough. I like it that way. I can store it all on one 2-foot long shelf. The two pictures below are basically what I have, plus I'll hang some garland and lights on the balcony off our second-story flat before Thanksgiving.

Thanks Evee, for helping us decorate!

So, since we're a bit in the Christmas spirit around here, today I couldn't help but  think of the 1822 poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" as I hung up wash to dry.

"All the stockings were hung on the heat register with care..."
:)

Did you know that prior to this poem Santa Claus
had never been associated with a sleigh or reindeer?

What a fascinating bit of research! Had no idea. And the socks look nice and toasty over that register! Couldn't help but give a laugh when I read your quote beneath. :-)
