Dennis and I have been doing quite a bit of dreaming these days.
Wondering about God's purposes and plans and how they intersect with who we are - our gifts, abilities, strengths, and passions.
My husband's strategic mind came forth the other night when we were dreaming of what could be. Over a couple of deluxe burgers and fries at Culver's, Dennis gave me one sheet of light green cardstock and a post-it pad. Okay, what do I do with this? I ask. I don't consider myself to be a strategic thinker. He proceeded to explain that I was to list out his gifts, abilities, and strengths on individual post-its, then I was to prioritize them on the cardstock . . . kind of like a Christmas tree, the top being the highest. While I was writing his out, he was doing the same for me. Next we wrote themes of our lives on post-its and prioritized them on the other side of the cardstock.
Dreaming . . . I've always loved dreaming with Dennis and here we are again at another pivotal moment in our lives . . . catching God's vision for the future.
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen

Thanks for sharing your journey and the process of taking the next steps. It is interesting and encouraging. I have no doubt that God has something very challenging and fulfilling ahead for you two! May His peace fill your lives!
I like dreaming like that, too - sort of a methodical brainstorm. :) We used to do that for hours when I was little, but I haven't done it for quite a few years now. Perhaps soon it'll be time to dream again.

Gwen, dreaming is a glorious thing -- and it can help so much as you process the future. What a wonderful way for you and Dennis to launch into new beginnings. I pray that God will continue making Himself known as you seek to find next steps. We will miss you SO, SO MUCH, but at the same time, we release you to move ahead with God's divine purposes, whatever they may be.
I love you both so much.
